Halloween recipe treats for kids
With the night’s drawing in and Halloween just around the corner, why not take time out to create some spooky chocolate mousse lanterns with your family. They’re super easy to do and taste amazing!

The children will have a great time scooping out the mousse and eating its creamy, chocolatey filling.

Ingredients:

• 6 mandarins/oranges

• 2 cups of soaked cashews

• 1 cup coconut cream

• 3 tbsp maple syrup

• 1/2 to 1 cup Chocolate or raw cacao powder

• Handful of mint leaves

Method:

  1. Prepare the mandarins by slicing off the tops (save these) and scooping out the fruit to leave an empty skin.
  2. Cut out spooky faces on the mandarin skins.
  3. Make the filling by adding the soaked cashews, coconut cream, maple syrup and superfood chocolate or raw cacao into a food processor and blitzing all ingredients until smooth.
  4. Fill the emptied mandarins with chocolate filling and place in the fridge to set for 1-2 hours.
  5. Slit a small cut in the top of the mandarin tops with a sharp knife and slot in 1-2 mint leaves.
  6. Once the chocolate has set, take them out of the fridge and serve with the mandarin tops.
