Calor provide all staff with a premium subscription to Headspace

Our people at Calor have really blown us away during this period – from our drivers that continue to get up at the crack of dawn, leave the safety of their own home and wind their way up and down the country, to our customer experience teams who go above and beyond for everyone who relies on our service and products.

But, we know that continuing with their responsibilities during the Coronavirus pandemic has heightened stress and anxiety for many of our staff.

Our staff’s well-being is so important to us at Calor and we’re constantly assessing ways to make the workplace, whether from home, out on the road or at a Calor site, a happy and safe environment to be in.

From today, we’re excited to provide all of Calor’s staff with a premium subscription for Headspace, an app that specialises in meditation and mindfulness. With hundreds of guided sessions on everything from sleep and stress, we trust this app will help our people set aside more time for a healthier and happier mind-set.

We all experience life’s troubles mounting up, with some periods more intense than others. Influenced by scientific research, Headspace comments on the many proven benefits of meditation, including lowering levels of stress, frustration, anxiety and depression. We’re so pleased that we could provide this subscription for our staff so they can now utilise this amazing app.

Nia Fortune, Calor’s HR Director, commented on this exciting launch: “The mental well-being of our colleagues is paramount. We know that mindful meditation is proven to reduce stress and improve sleep, therefore we are so pleased to offer the opportunity to all our colleagues to access this great service.”

We’re encouraging our staff at Calor to make the most of these focussed sessions, whether that be to start the day, during a break, out for a stroll, or after work to help wind down. We all need ‘me time’ and we’re delighted that our staff can now head to the app whenever they need a moment to themselves.
