At Calor, we're committed to continually improving the way we operate - from reducing our environmental impact to strenghtening responsible business practice. That's whay we're delighted to share that Calor has achieved a 10-point improvement in our latest EcoVadis sustainability assessment, earning the EcoVadis "Committed" badge.

What this means

EcoVadis is a globally recognised sustainability rating platform, assessing more than 120,000 companies worldwide. Their independent evaluations help businesses compare supplier sustainability performance and make more responsible purchasing decisions. Each company is assessed across four key pillars:

  • Environment
  • Labour & Human Rights
  • Ethics
  • Sustainable Procurement

Scores are based on tangible, evidence-backed actions and the maturity of a company’s sustainability management system in each area.

Where we improved:

Our 10-point improvement reflects progress across all four pillars — but one area stood out:

  • +16 points in the Environment pillar: This significant uplift demonstrates the increased focus we’ve placed on environmental performance since our last assessment, including stronger processes, targets, and initiatives designed to reduce our environmental footprint.

Across the remaining pillars, improvements in our policies, systems and reporting standards also supported our overall score increase.

Why this matters?

Being recognised by EcoVadis reinforces that we’re moving in the right direction — but our sustainability journey doesn’t stop here. We’re committed to:

  • Continuing to strengthen our approach across all four pillars
  • Embedding sustainability deeper into the way we work
  • Achieving consistent year-on-year improvement in future assessments

This ongoing focus helps us support our customers, partners, and communities in making more sustainable choices.

A step forward - with more to come

We’re proud of the progress we’ve made — and motivated by the work still ahead.

Our latest EcoVadis assessment is an encouraging milestone and a reminder of the responsibility we carry as a leading energy provider in the UK.
