Supporting the local community
Here at Calor, we are passionate not only about taking good care of our customers, but also about creating and maintaining good relationships with the people living and working in our local communities.
Start from the heart
Calor actively encourages all permanent staff to give something back to local communities. Start From the Heart is a scheme which gives employees one day’s paid leave each year to do something which can make a difference to their community. Employees can either choose to participate in an event coordinated by Calor or they are free to choose their own Start From the Heart activity, as long as they meet the criteria of education and sustainability; this involves from picking up litter from our local woods to redecorating a local school.
Seeing the wood for the trees
We created the Calor Wood in March 2011 at our Stoney Stanton site in Leicestershire. Around 400 people including local school children, Calor staff and their families planted 2,500 saplings on two hectares of unused scrubland in support of the Woodland Trust’s MOREwoods scheme.
Being a good neighbour
At all Calor business locations we aim to be sensitive to our local communities in which we work in order to leave a lasting, positive legacy.
