Futuria Liquid Gas (previously BioLPG)

Futuria Liquid Gas, renewable energy without compromise

It's time to put your carbon footprint down.

What is Futuria Liquid Gas (previously BioLPG)?

A renewable energy solution

There’s no avoiding it, we must begin to make more sustainable choices for our future

So let’s talk Futuria Liquid Gas (previously BioLPG). It’s renewable. It's made from a blend of waste, residues and sustainably sourced materials, and it's a step in the right direction.

Futuria Liquid Gas (previously BioLPG) is chemically identical to LPG and is compatible with all LPG products, but this gas has an environmentally friendly twist. This means that Futuria Liquid Gas (previously BioLPG) has absolutely no compromise on performance, so it's as energy efficient as LPG, whilst supporting us all to achieve a sustainable future.

It's a no brainer. With Futuria Liquid Gas (previously BioLPG), you can do your bit for the environment, whilst enjoying the same reliability and efficiency as with standard LPG. One step at a time, and with your help, we’ll reduce carbon emissions together.

All about Futuria Liquid Gas (previously BioLPG)

Futuira Liquid Gas (previously BioLPG) is a co-product of the biodiesel production process. During manufacturing, the feedstocks undergo a series of complex treatments. They are combined with hydrogen in a process, called hydrogenolysis, which separates and purifies their energy content. During the refining process, a variety of waste ‘off-gases’ are produced that contain propane or Futuira Liquid Gas. For every tonne of biodiesel, 50 kg of Futuira Liquid Gas is generated from this off gas stream. This co-product is then purified to make it identical to conventional propane. And there you have it, the production of Futuira Liquid Gas.
Calor’s Futuira Liquid Gas (previously BioLPG) is produced by Neste, the world leader in advanced biofuels, and is then supplied by us via our parent company – SHV Energy.  It is manufactured in a custom-built production unit in Rotterdam and is a co-product of the ground breaking NEXBTL biodiesel production process. Quite honestly, it really is as amazing as it sounds.
Through a method called mass balancing, we keep a close track on the quantities of LPG and renewable Futuira Liquid Gas (previously BioLPG) mixed into our main supply. By opting for a Futuira Liquid Gas tariff, you’re buying into this sustainable mix and a greener future. Over the coming years the mass of the renewable energy injected into our supply will only increase as we move towards this goal.
