Ramco: Giving Assets - and Energy - a New Lease of Life
"We're all about giving things a new lease of life, so choosing a cleaner fuel made perfect sense." Adrian Foreman, Head of Operations, Ramco

For almost 30 years, Ramco has been on a mission to keep valuable assets in use and out of landfill. From their two bustling sites in Skegness, Lincolnshire, the team of 53 works with organisations to find new homes for surplus equipment — saving waste, cutting costs, and helping the circular economy thrive. Their ethos is simple: every asset deserves a new lease of life.
That commitment to sustainability runs right through the business. As a company publicly committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050, Ramco not only supports its clients’ green ambitions but is also making its own energy choices more sustainable. That’s where Calor came in.
Ramco relies on forklifts to keep daily operations running smoothly. Looking for an alternative to diesel, they chose to switch to Calor BioLPG, a renewable propane gas that reduces carbon emissions without disrupting performance. Working closely with Calor, Ramco installed two 1200-litre tanks across their two sites — a quick and efficient process with no interruption to operations.
Today, Ramco is on a 40% BioLPG allocation tariff, helping them achieve up to 32% CO₂ savings* compared with standard LPG. Calor’s flexible tariffs, ranging from 20% to 100% BioLPG, mean businesses like Ramco can choose the level of renewable fuel that best fits their sustainability goals and budget. Every allocation comes with independently audited Green Gas Certificates, giving customers peace of mind that their renewable usage is fully verified.
For Ramco, switching to BioLPG was a natural step in aligning energy use with company values. For Calor, it was about listening, advising, and providing a reliable fuel solution that fits seamlessly into daily operations. With Calor’s telemetry in place, gas levels in tanks storing Calor’s gas are remotely monitored and automatically topped up — so the forklifts can keep moving and the business keeps growing.
Ramco’s story shows what’s possible when businesses and energy providers work hand in hand. By pairing a strong ethos of reuse with a practical, renewable energy solution, Ramco and Calor are proving that reducing carbon doesn’t have to mean compromising on efficiency or making major changes to how you do business.
As Ramco continues to grow and inspire others to rethink surplus assets, their move to BioLPG stands as another example of their commitment to “doing the right thing” — and of Calor’s role in helping businesses on the journey to a lower-carbon future.
