Calor provides face coverings to all colleagues

Calor Masks
One of our main priorities here at Calor is to care for our colleagues and keep them safe. Following recent government guidelines that makes face coverings mandatory in further public spaces - such as shops, shopping centres, transport hubs and supermarkets - Calor has provided eight face coverings to each of our colleagues, including those who are currently furloughed, for their and their family’s personal use.

We have been following government guidelines stringently, playing our vital part to help stop the spread of Covid-19. In addition to strict PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) worn by Calor staff whilst at work, these face coverings will enable all colleagues to also remain safe outside of work. Nia Fortune, Calor’s HR Director, tells us more about the provision of these face coverings:

“Our response during the Covid-19 pandemic has been led by our organisational guiding principle: ‘Safety’. Ensuring that our colleagues, customers and communities are safe during this time is key for us at Calor. One part of that has been to provide face coverings to our colleagues for their personal use. We’ve received some fantastic feedback from our colleagues and we’re delighted to be able to provide this level of support at this difficult time.”

These reusable face coverings were distributed to Calor colleagues alongside important guidelines, including instructions to be washed in the laundry at 60 degrees after each use. We continue to advise our people at Calor to continue following strict social distancing measures and thorough, frequent hand-washing, as well as wearing these face coverings which can help reduce the risk of transmission in some circumstances.

We’re constantly assessing ways to maintain the safety and happiness of our colleagues at Calor, including our recent gift to all Calor staff for a premium subscription to Headspace, an app that specialises in meditation and mindfulness. Our management team continues to meet weekly, to assess the implications of Covid-19, constantly exploring ways to keep our staff, as well as our customers, happy and safe.
