• You don’t need a fancy camera; these days most smart phones have a decent enough camera with plenty of features.
• Think about the composition on the photo – what do you want to include? Should it be a close up shot, or do you want to capture a wider shot of your whole garden?
• Consider all angles, be experimental!
• Landscapes – Draw the eye in to the centre point with leading lines such as hedges or pathways.
• Depth of field – a blurred background can be a beautiful effect when shooting in the garden! – Make sure you choose what you want to be the focus point in the image.
• Look for different textures.
• Colour – a contrast looks beautiful and creates a huge impact. – Remember, bold, bright and light areas attract the eye, so think about the focus point of the image.
