Safety tips

Keeping the area around your tank clear

Please remember to keep a 3m seperation distance from your tank(s) and base(s).

This area should be clear of weeds, rubbish, deep-rooted trees, hedges, and parked cars. And please keep the access and exit areas to your tank(s) clear.

If you’re planning to make changes around the area where your tank(s) is, please contact us before doing so. This could include structural changes, placing sheds and walls, and other potential hazards.

Keeping the area around your cylinders safe

  • Place gas bottles against a wall or structure with at least 30 minutes of fire resistance.
  • Install them on firm, level ground in a well-ventilated spot where they’re protected from damage and always easy to access.
  • Keep at least 1 metre of space between the bottles and any ignition sources, unprotected electrics, heat sources, doors, vents, or windows.
  • Maintain at least 2 metres from drains, gullies, or cellar openings.
  • Ensure the surrounding area is free from litter, vegetation, or anything flammable.
  • Do not place bottles within 3 metres of corrosive, toxic, or oxidising substances.
