Our People

We need to consider the impact of what we do on our colleagues, our customers and the local communities in which we work.

Whether it is our involvement in community projects, supporting charities addressing key social issues or supporting the wellbeing of our employees, we take responsibility for the impact we have.

Start from the Heart programme

Supporting projects every year

Each year our colleagues give back to the local community by volunteering their time. Our Start from the Heart programme allows each of us the chance to spend a day volunteering and building links to the community and each other. We’ve been doing this since 2011.

Calor Rural Community Fund

Changing lives, around the country

Calor's Rural Community Fund was developed to help those communities off the gas grid raise money for local projects. Each year, £50,000 is donated to a variety of projects across the country, helping to support the people, villages and communities we serve.

“Our participants learn cooking skills that help them switch from relying on ready meals and takeaways to a healthier diet, regardless of income, helping them to build self confidence...Calor's generosity means that we can continue to support our community, teaching skills that will last a lifetime.”

BioLPG

A breath of fresh air

To help our customers reduce their impact on the environment, Calor has introduced BioLPG to the UK market. Our parent company SHV Energy has committed to supplying 100% renewable energy products by 2040, and the first step to achieving this was taken in 2018.

Charity Partnerships

Fundraising for charities is something that we do naturally. Calor colleagues chose our corporate charity partner, currently Mind in England & Wales, SAMH in Scotland, and we raise money for this charity through a wide range of activities like sky diving, bake sales and sponsored bike rides. Our previous charity partner was Alzheimer's Society; for which we raised over £100,000.
