Describe your project
We are to resite the part-time Post Office to the new annexe and after consultation with the Post Office, we will provide new facilities which incorporate all their requirements, whilst the facilities can be used for other meeting purposes as well.
How will your project benefit your local community?
Public transport for this rural area is not frequent and many residents have to rely on their own transport but, many do not have their own transport. The part-time Post Office is used by residents of all ages and provides banking facilities in addition to the normal postal facilities. It is also used by local businesses.
Please give details of any support you have from your local community
Consultations have been held with almost total agreement to both the larger project (the annexe) and the increased facilities which will be contained within the annexe.
How big is your community? And how many people will benefit from your project?
There are currently around 700 residents within the village and further houses are to be built which will increase the resident population by around another 20/25
Tell us what you intend to spend the money on.
The Post Office will need new storage, counter and security facilities and the grant will be used to purchase the necessary units. Fortunately, the same units can also be used for the preparation and serving of drinks which will enable the annexe to be used as a meeting and focal point, as well.
When and why was your project founded?
The Hall was built in 1960 and the annexe started earlier in 2019, It is a Registered Charity and its purpose is to provide facilities for the community, enabling meetings, entertainment, education, mental and physical well-being.
