Project description

Describe your project
Parwich is a rural village and approximately one hours drive from the nearest ambulance station. The village is reliant on volunteer Community First Responders to attend emergencies in advance of the professional ambulance crew. It is essential that the volunteers attend regular training sessions and these would be enhanced if we had access to state of the art simulation dummies to practice CPR techniques. This application is to enable our group to purchase one of these training aides.

How will your project benefit your local community?
The village community is comforted in the knowledge that trained individuals will be able to attend emergencies in the critical first minutes of, for instance heart attacks or cases where the patient is not breathing. Thankfully call outs are rare, but when they happen, the Community First Responder must be able to react immediately and act with confidence when they are on the scene. The regular training sessions held in the village Memorial Hall form an essential part of the ability to provide this confidence and effectiveness, which could have a life saving benefit for the community.

Please give details of any support you have from your local community
The village has a core of seven volunteer community responders which demonstrates the level of interest and support. In the past, the community has help fund the supply and installation of defibrillator equipment which is a major asset to the village.

How big is your community? And how many people will benefit from your project?
The village has population of approximately 450, which extends to more than 600 when neighboring communities are also taken into account. On occasion, we may be asked to attend emergencies in areas outside our village, and has even extended to attend to help tourists on one of the many trails.

Tell us what you intend to spend the money on.
Brayden PRO Manikin With Bluetooth App Support and RED LED lighting

When and why was your project founded?
The need to provide training of the first responder team is a key requirement and has been a facet of the service since it was created in the village more than 10 years ago.
