Our new 'Clever Choice' Home Energy campaign has launched nationally

To help promote Calor as an alternative to oil for off-grid home heating, we have launched a new campaign which is now live across TV, radio, digital and print channels. Building on last year's campaign, we see people making some not-so-clever choices before making the clever choice of switching to Calor.

You can view the campaign below, along with some fun behind-the-scenes facts.

Make the Clever Choice

We're on Sky

We have produced two adverts that will be broadcasted on Sky TV channels. One edit shows the benefit of auto top-up and the other focuses on hiding your tank underground.

Fun Fact - The star of our TV advert, Tom Sutton, has also starred in adverts for WKD and KFC.

Digital Disruption

Digital channels provide a great opportunity to reach our audience. 55% of people watch online video content every day, and we can use these channels (for example, adverts that play on Youtube before watching a video) to advertise our products and services. As well as broadcasting our two TV adverts through these channels, we have also created one shorter advert to present the benefits of the Calor Compact.

We also use digital display banners which allow our audience to click through to our website to find out more about our offerings.

Going Viral

Everyone loves a funny video, and if you’re a Facebook user you will be used to videos appearing in your feed. We’ve tapped into this with our own viral style videos that will be appearing on Facebook and Instagram.

*Fun fact* Our stunt actors appearing in the clips have thrown themselves off buildings for shows such as Game of Thrones and Mission: Impossible

Re-running Radio

After the success of our radio adverts with Tom Baker last year, we will be running these again over the autumn. You’ll be able to hear us on stations such as Classic FM in the south, Heart in Wales, or Star in the north.

*Fun fact* Prior to Tom voicing our radio adverts, we used the voice of new Dr Who Jodie Whittaker – perhaps the Tardis is powered by LPG!

Grand Designs

As well as our digital advertising, we also have print adverts in national magazine titles including Grand Designs, and more regional titles including Norfolk Life.

The Oscar goes to..

The new campaign brought with it the opportunity to feature a Calor driver, and we now have our very own Calor celebrity! A massive thank you goes to Robert Shred for giving his time to help, and also our colleagues across the business who have supported.
