The Carbon Trust
In recognition of our commitment to active carbon management and reduction, since January 2011, Calor has been awarded the prestigious Carbon Trust Standard in recognition of our environmental performance and our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint.
What we do to achieve it
Carried out by independent third-party assessors, it assesses corporate carbon performance in three key areas: carbon footprint measurement, carbon management and carbon reduction performance. It involved an in-depth analysis of Calor’s carbon management system as well as site inspections and interviews with a range of staff members to understand how we undertake our carbon management.
The Carbon Trust requires businesses to recertify their Standard every two years, and in doing so, demonstrate on-going improvement in carbon emission reduction. In retaining our Standard in 2015, Calor was certified by the Carbon Trust as having achieved a 5% absolute reduction in carbon emissions since 2010.
It reflects our commitment to operating in an environmentally and socially responsible manner and the long-term investment we have made in our buildings and digital distribution technologies which has achieved a 40% reduction in our fleet size from 2004 to 2014.
Our certification validity period is from 01 January 2015 – 31 December 2016.
