» Boiler Scrappage Scheme
Thanks to the Government’s new Boiler Scrappage Scheme, you can now get £400 off a new high efficiency boiler when you scrap your old, inefficient Band G model.
Thanks to increased efficiency, replacing a Band G boiler with a Band A boiler could also save you up to £235* on your annual heating bill.

» Am I eligible?
If you own one of England’s 4.5 million Band G boilers, and it’s in full working order, then you’re likely to be eligible for a grant. If you’re over 60, the boiler doesn’t even have to be functioning.
- Your new boiler must be a SEDBUK (Seasonal Efficiency of Domestic Boilers in the UK) A-rated (or equivalent) LPG, gas or oil burner. Electric boilers are not eligible.
- Only one voucher per household is permitted. Vouchers expire after 12 weeks.
- Scrappage Scheme Grants can’t be used in conjunction with CERT (Carbon Emissions Target) funding – but can run alongside the Low Carbon Building Programme.
To find out if your boiler is Band G, check to see if it has a permanent pilot light. If it does, and it’s more than 15 years old, it’s likely to be Band G. If you’re unsure as to your eligibility, visit the Government Boiler Efficiency Database
The grants are only available to private tenants and homeowners in England, and are limited to 125,000 households on a first-come-first-served basis.
If you are replacing a G rated boiler with an A rated boiler, you could also qualify for one of our free boilers as part of the current promotion.
» How do I claim my grant?
Here’s how to claim your grant in five simple steps:
- Identify whether or not you have an eligible Band G boiler. Visit the Government Boiler Efficiency Database if you're not sure. Alternatively, call CalorForce on 0800 121 4461 .
- Get a quotation for changing your boiler, from a local Gas Safe® installer. Find out more about Calor's installation team CalorForce
- Apply to EST (Energy Saving Trust), including details of the quote. Once your claim is approved, you’ll be sent a voucher. Visit the Energy Saving Trust web site
- Upon receipt of the voucher, arrange for the boiler to be replaced by your installer. (Vouchers expire after 12 weeks).
- On completion of the work, send your voucher back to EST with proof of installation. EST will then process payment of the £400
