Calor has also provided direct and long term
assistance to specific educational projects as follows.
Kineton High School
Calor’s head office has established a close relationship with this Warwickshire rural
secondary school to provide marketing and ICT support. Case studies in these subjects
are included in the school’s teaching programmes and Calor personnel have visited
classes to outline business issues and challenges from a practical perspective.
Gaelic College, Isle Of Skye
Calor has established a fund to create and maintain a theatre for students to stage
theatrical productions in Gaelic. The company has pledged its continued active
involvement in this project. In addition, safety jackets have been donated to school
children on the Isle of Skye in support of the local road safety education campaign.
Canvey Island School
The Calor Computer Centre, based in the school, has been designed and funded
by Calor to support students in gaining IT skills.
Calor Farms For City Kids Appeal
In 2000, all Calor’s head office staff took part in an event that raised £1,000 to send
local urban children to a farm for a week, encouraging awareness of rural and
environmental issues.
