Calor is the leading UK distributor of liquefied petroleum
gas (LPG) and associated hydrocarbon
products.
Just as Calor seeks to continually improve its performance in health, safety and quality, it is
committed to developing a positive environmental culture. This commitment and culture is
driven by the Managing Director and other members of the Executive Management team and
implemented by those involved in day to day control of our processes and service standards.
We have identified our environmental impacts company wide and regularly audit our
environmental performance. This information gives us objective measurements from which to
identify areas for improvement on a continuous basis, enabling targets to be set and the
necessary action plans to be implemented.
In addition, we will continue to review and adopt best practice industry solutions, where
possible, in order to minimise the risk of all forms of pollution arising from our own operations,
including those resulting from a major accident, and to comply or exceed the requirements of
all relevant environmental legislation.
Calor has documented an environmental management system (EMS), based on ISO:14001
and implemented this EMS system at its sites throughout the UK. Staff at all levels are aware
of its requirements and commitments. The EMS is maintained and regulated by the
Company’s Safety, Health and Environment Manager. This will ensure that caring for the
environment becomes an equally important, integrated and fundamental part of every day
business. Appropriate resources are made available to ensure that this environmental policy
is fully implemented.
We will continue to educate and train our staff to act in an environmentally responsible
manner . A copy of the policy is also available to the public and we will continue to work
openly with customers, local communities and other interested parties as well as encouraging
our suppliers to pursue best practice.
