How Green Are You?

Calor gives you the latest news and views on how the industry is going greener.

Paul Blacklock - CalorWelcome to ‘Well Connected’. In this issue we take a closer look at the hot issues of the moment that you need to know about.

‘Going green’ is the big industry news whether you’re a commercial or a domestic installer. The government, boiler and other equipment manufacturers are addressing greener fuel issues and energy saving initiatives.

LPG is naturally the greener fuel of choice. Read on to see how legislation, schemes and boiler technologies will affect you and your customers.

Perhaps the most significant bit of news is the government backed‘Enhanced Capital Allowance’ scheme (ECA) through the Carbon Trust. Briefly, it encourages businesses to reduce their emissions by switching to lower carbon technologies by enabling them to claim 100% first-year capital allowances on their spending on qualifying plant machinery.

This of course favours LPG, as it has lower carbon emissions than oil and it has a wide range of LPG equipment that qualifies for ECAs. And as an installer, LPG is going to give you more and more opportunities in the coming year. Read all about it in ‘Well Connected’.

What’s more, you can also read about why boiler manufacturers like Worcester Bosch and Rotex are developing ‘A’ rated LPG boilers that are both eco-friendly and energy efficient. Perhaps they know that market trends are telling them that your customers want a credible green alternative to traditional oil burning boilers. And of course, recommending and installing these boilers will give you a bigger profit opportunity through our Installer Incentive Scheme.*

If you want to find out more about how LPG is becoming a green fuel favourite, why don’t you make a date with us at one of our Calor roadshows, where we’ll gladly answer your questions.
