HSE Information
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is running a safety campaign for all commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) users that highlights the importance of maintaining your external pipework.
The Health and Safety Executive have asked all suppliers of LPG in the UK to forward an HSE safety leaflet to all their commercial customers.
This HSE leaflet is entitled "Checking LPG pipework" and is designed to remind industrial and commercial LPG users of their responsibility for the checking and maintenance of external LPG pipework.
Download the HSE leaflet ( approx. 165Kb)
The HSE states that - "All LPG pipework, whether buried or not should be inspected, maintained and, when necessary, replaced. You should establish the length of time your pipe can be used safely. You can either:
- identify when the pipework was last checked, what was done and when the next check is due; or
- ensure someone competent draws up an inspection and maintenance strategy."
