This section of our FAQs is devoted to answering your questions on Bulk Tanks.

» I've received the HSE's™ Pipework Leaflet. Do I need to take further action?

As a Calor customer we are very keen that you are provided with additional information to help you manage this important issue. Calor has therefore produced a dedicated section on our web site that will give you more guidance on the type of underground LPG piping that has been fitted at your site and what your actions you should take. » How often will my bulk storage tank be filled?

The frequency of delivery will be dependant upon your usage. There are three options, you can call into us to arrange a delivery when you are running low on gas, you can request a periodic automatic top up of gas or you can be supplied with The Think Tank® which means that you will receive an automatic top up of gas when you are running low (please see The Think Tank® section in the related articles for more information).

» I need information on siting a bulk tank in the vicinity of a listed property

You will need to contact your local council/planning office to discuss further. General information about planning permission can be found in the related articles section below.

» Where can I find information about converting from an oil fired boiler, to LPG?

Call 0800 121 4461 to arrange for an area specialist to visit and carry out a site survey. They will provide a no obligatory quotation for gas supply.

» Where can I find information on converting from an above ground tank to an underground tank?

Please call 0800 121 4461 and we will arrange for an area specialist to visit and discuss your requirements.

» Where can I find information about installing underground tanks and equipment costs?

Please call 0800 121 4461 and we will send you some information on storage options and underground tanks. Alternatively fill out our short enquiry form .

» My tank has been empty for some time, will it need purging and venting?

If a tank has been refilled after it has been empty for some time, then a regulator reset will need to take place, when possible the Calor driver will complete this for you. If we are unable to reset the regulator, the 24 hour emergency line will be contacted and an engineer will be sent.

» Do you provide the service of supplying and fitting a tank & boiler?

We supply and install the tank but you will need to arrange the installation of your boiler with a local installer. We have a database of installers across the country and will therefore be able to provide you with the names of Gas Safe® Register (formerly CORGI) installers in your area

» Can I buy my gas from anyone other than the owner of my tank?

No your tank can be filled only by its owner. Once you are at the end of the core period of your contract with your existing supplier you are free to choose a different supplier who will purchase the tank from your existing supplier or install its own tank and then supply you with gas.

» Do you supply Bulk Storage tanks?

Yes, we supply LPG bulk storage tanks both above and underground.
