Calor has launched clever new technology to ensure that its customers should always have gas. Thanks to advanced wireless technology, which is being incorporated across new above or below tank installations, subject to a site survey*, Calor can provide what it calls The Think Tank®, allowing customers to relax knowing that hot baths, gas to cook on and open fires will be forever ‘on tap’ as the tank does the thinking for them.
Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is clean, efficient and controllable, and offers a real alternative to those people who live beyond the mains gas supply. It provides exactly the same level of comfort and convenience as mains gas for heating, hot water and cooking.
Calor is the UK’s largest market leading supplier of LPG, delivering to tens of thousands of people throughout the country, more than any other supplier, even to the most remote regions and to homes with complex or unique needs.
How does it work?
Put simply, the Calor tanks can think for themselves, analysing when they need to be re-filled with LPG and actually ordering the fuel too. That all human intervention is completely removed is an obvious benefit, setting Calor’s offer apart from alternative fuels’ systems, such as oil that in most cases cannot schedule a delivery automatically.
A gauge reader is fitted to the tank to regularly measure the amount of gas left in the tank. The Think Tank® is also fitted with a fin-like transmitter unit that sends a signal to a dialler unit inside the house. This dialler unit dials Calor’s central computer to update Calor on the gas level in the tank and, if a top-up is required, a tanker is despatched to the property.*
Dial-up costs are completely free and the tank does all the thinking, so Calor customers with The Think Tank® don’t have to worry about call charges, checking the level in the tank or ordering gas.
Trouble-free, Worry-free….and Rental-free
As a special launch offer, Calor will waive the first 100 days tank standing charge for all customers signing up to The Think Tank® system. The technology is both reliable and accurate, whilst installation of the equipment is free, another key benefit from Calor, since other fuel providers, such as oil, usually charge extra for tanks which incorporate wireless technology.
