The UK’s leading supplier of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has restructured its FLT sales team to bolster its focus on the UK materials handling market.
Calor, who has a network of distribution centres throughout the UK, has appointed Barry Ohrman to head the forklift truck sales division in the north as sales of the cleaner burning fuel continues to grow.
Barry, who has been with Calor for over 20 years, joins Jason Whitwell to cover the whole UK market. Ohrman will focus on the north of the UK and Jason will continue to consolidate the market in the south.
Speaking of his move, Barry said: “This is an exciting time for LPG as it is now well established in the sector, with Calor working closely with all the major FLT manufacturers and distributors. Jason has achieved a great deal in a short space of time and it’s great to be joining him to promote the use of LPG even wider.
“The Calor philosophy is to work in partnership with all the leading forklift truck manufacturers to ensure a smooth installation and it’s clear that, whatever the application, LPG is the fuel of choice.”
LPG delivers a number of benefits compared to diesel and electric, principally based on reduced emissions or recharge time, but Calor has a number if inherent advantages.
Jason added: “We are seeing our market share grow considerably and it goes far beyond merely the supply of gas or the fuel price.
“LPG trucks provide true flexibility, being suitable for indoor and outdoor use and discussions with an LPG expert with the right technical capability can ensure a hassle free conversion, as well as providing a package of ongoing technical support, safety assurance and training.”
