Calor, the UK’s leading supplier of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), offers a range of LPG powered BBQs and alfresco products for outlets to make the most of the profit potential that improving outdoor areas can bring. Visitors at the SLTN show this April should visit Calor on stand D60 to find out more.
Send Profits Soaring
The smoking ban gave many outlets the opportunity to give more consideration to their outside space in order to provide dedicated smoking areas that meet the requirements of the ban. Not only that, the ban led to many pubs and restaurants improving their food offering to attract further custom. At the show, Calor, will be demonstrating how outlets can improve their outdoor facilities and food offerings at the same time.
Calor chef consultant, Peter Bell, believes that throughout the world BBQs are regarded as one of the original pieces of ‘chef theatre’. He urges outlets to consider their alfresco menus as it can ultimately make a difference to the bottom line. He says: ”BBQs and hog roasts are being used more and more in catering establishments, particularly at events such as conferences, weddings and parties and can prove popular throughout the year, not just in summer.”
From small BBQs suitable for one off events, through to large commercial BBQs and hog roasts which offer visual impact as well as great food, Calor has an alfresco dining solution for every outlet. Visitors should head for the Calor stand (D60) to find out more.
Peter concludes: “With careful planning and the right equipment, alfresco menus can become a regular offering, and not just reserved for special occasions.”
Hot Topic
When developing an alfresco menu, consideration should also be given to keeping customers comfortable. With effective outdoor heating, customers can be kept comfortable for longer, have more space in which to enjoy their meals and drinks and are also able to smoke.
By providing suitable outdoor heating, outlets can make the days last longer as warm and comfortable customers are more likely to prolong their visit and increase their average spend. Outlets with heated outdoor areas can also encourage people to sit outside earlier in the year and make the summer last well into autumn which allows them to increase overall capacity and attract more customers.
From flexible free standing patio heaters that can be repositioned easily, to secured fixed radiant
Heaters or complete Terrace Solutions, Calor has a heating solution for every business and budget. Visitors the show will be able to find out more by visiting stand D60.
Operating Responsibly
Calor is an environmentally aware company and carefully considers its impact on the environment, including the carbon emissions produced by business operations and by LPG fuelled products and appliances.
The company recommends that outdoor heating products are used in an environmentally responsible and safe manner and advises outlets to ensure heaters are operating at the correct temperature, as they do not always need to be on full power and to turn heaters off when not in use.
The company also advises that as patio and radiant heaters do not heat the air, instead heating the people sitting under them, seating areas should be positioned close to the appliance.
Keep on Trac
With Calor, running out of gas mid-way through the evening is now a thing of the past thanks to Gas Trac®, an innovative integrated feature of all Calor Patio Gas® cylinders. Gas Trac® indicates the amount of gas remaining in the cylinder and ensures outlets can plan ahead and organise a replacement cylinder in good time.
Calor’s distribution network offers a fast and friendly service right across the country, from the furthest points in Scotland to the tips of Cornwall. For added peace of mind, all Calor drivers are trained to do a visual inspection of LPG cylinders and connections when they reach outlets to help ensure that the LPG supply should be safe. It just takes one call to Calor Gas Direct on 0800 662 663 to book a delivery slot.
Calor Credentials
In addition to outdoor dining and heating appliances, LPG can be used to power an entire business and allows the complete package of catering, heating and water heating to be fuelled from one source.
Calor’s Sabrina Jackson says: “We have worked with businesses in the catering and hospitality industry for over 70 years and our success is built on understanding their individual needs.
“LPG is a cleaner burning fuel and in a working kitchen we understand the need for a responsive and versatile heat that will provide all the benefits of mains gas. Also, the same LPG bulk tank can provide fuel for heating, ventilation and water heaters dependent upon the customer’s requirements.”
Calor understands how important reliability is, which is why it offers its customers unrivalled support and systems that can help. An additional benefit to using Calor LPG is the Think Tank® telemetry system.
The system automatically monitors the gas levels in your bulk tank and communicates directly with Calor when a top up is required. This means you should never have to worry about running out of LPG, which is paramount to ensure your guests come back time after time.
Calor is also able to offer your business a range of storage options to suit your needs. For example, underground tanks are a more discreet option as they are hidden below ground level and once buried, the area can be returned to grass or planted with flowers or shallow rooted shrubs.
Powering your facilities and equipment on Calor LPG ensures peace of mind beyond gas deliveries, as the company monitors, maintains and services the tank.
As the largest supplier of LPG in the UK market, Calor has a large distribution network which ensures they can reach even the remotest areas and to help provide your business with an overall solution, Calor works in partnership with leading manufacturers, suppliers and installers to ensure your transition to LPG is as smooth as possible.
