Clean Living with Calor Country Living

Many homeowners are fast seeing the benefits of Calor LPG over oil and are enjoying the hassle free, clean living that it brings.

When countryside lover, Dr Pentland, moved into his beautiful oil fuelled barn conversion near Atherstone in June 2003, he dreamed of installing an Aga in his kitchen. But he was soon to discover that the oil supplying his home might spoil this vision.

After seeking professional advice from an independent contractor, Dr Pentland was told that the flue required for the Aga may omit unpleasant fumes which would prevent Dr Pentland from opening his windows in his upstairs bedrooms.

Dr Pentland explains: “I had a Rayburn in my previous home so was keen to install one in my new house, but doing so required fitting a flue on the side of the property. This would not only be expensive, in excess of £2,000, but would also detract from the splendour of the building.

Dr Pentland“I was also advised that even with the flue properly installed, there were no guarantees that the fumes wouldn’t vent out along the roof of my house to the upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms. And keeping the windows shut to my lovely view during the height of summer was not a pleasant thought!

“One of the advisors then suggested I look at installing an LPG fuel source. I had heard of Calor Country Living and already knew of someone who was fuelling their house on it, so Calor was an obvious choice.”

Dr Pentland was delighted when he learnt that not only could his Aga run off Calor LPG without any unpleasant fumes, but that the tank supplying the fuel could also be installed underground, further reducing the visual impact on his beautiful home.

Calor domestic market manager, Andrea Price, explains: “A great majority of homebuyers moving to a non-mains gas area for the first time know very little about LPG as a home energy source. They don’t realise they can still have the comfort, convenience and versatility of mains gas for both cooking and heating the home that they have become accustomed too.”

Calor Country Living is all about versatility. Gas can be used in many ways around the home for cooking, heating, hot water and real effect fires – which is why Calor is such a popular choice. It’s clean, quiet and efficient.

Stored in liquid form in a tank, either above or below ground level or in cylinders adjacent to the house, Calor is delivered direct to homes, exactly when it is required, thanks to a computerised automatic ‘top-up’ system.
