As the UK’s market leading LPG supplier, Calor is committed to communicating the benefits of LPG and stimulating growth and demand in the market. As such, Calor is encouraging installers to take advantage of the two installer incentives on offer – a bonus scheme and a ‘recommended installer’ initiative.
Calor is urging installers to join its bonus incentive scheme, where installers receive a cash bonus for every lead that converts into a new Calor gas supply customer. Calor offers £100 for every lead converted, as well as a further end-of-year bonus based on the cumulative number of successful leads gained throughout the year. For example, installers generating 20 new bulk tank customers for Calor during 2005 will be rewarded with a £2,000 bonus.
Between May and July 2005 installers have even more reason to get involved, as during this period Calor is doubling its incentive to £200 for every successful lead. After July the scheme will revert back to £100 per lead. In addition, any installer that generates five leads in a single year will become a ‘supported installer’, where additional promotional support is offered.
One installer that has benefited from Calor’s installer incentive scheme is Dick Loaring, who is based in the Isle of Wight. Dick has installed in excess of 1,500 Calor tanks over the past 20 years. Dick said: “For me, the incentive Calor offers is just the icing on the cake. The extra money is of course welcomed, but I always recommend Calor LPG – and not because of the incentives offered.
“Calor LPG provides an ideal heating solution, especially when new high efficiency condensing boilers are specified. LPG is clean and efficient, and its versatility means I can cross sell AGA cookers to my customers. Add to this the availability of underground storage, which makes the tank invisible, and there really is no reason why installers should look elsewhere for a fuel source – with or without the incentives.”
Calor is also encouraging proactive installers to join its ‘recommended installer’ scheme. Whenever Calor receives an enquiry for an LPG domestic central heating installation the company refers them to a local Calor recommended installer.
According to Rachel Hodge, market development manager at Calor, opportunities in LPG are increasing, with a big upturn in enquiries for domestic LPG central heating installations: “Though in recent years oil has been regarded as the main fuel source in non-mains-gas areas, oil regulations are becoming stricter and, with the legal responsibility for leaks extending to both the homeowner, and potentially the installer, many non-mains-gas households are now opting for LPG.
“The benefits of LPG are also becoming more widely understood. LPG is versatile – the fuel can be used for space heating, hot water and cooking – and this is clearly being recognised, along with the fact that it is the only non-mains-gas fuel which provides a real and controllable flame for cookers and fires – just like mains gas does. Calor LPG customers can also benefit from underground tank storage, automatic fuel top-ups, convenient and hassle free tank maintenance and tank insurance. Installers will therefore find that many rural homeowners are interested in LPG – enabling them to take advantage of our bonus offers.
“We have instigated many lead-generating consumer marketing initiatives for 2005 to stimulate the market further. Our quarterly door drop, which generated 4,000 leads in 2004, continues this year. We are targeting around three million households across the UK this time, and if the first quarter is anything to go by, the results are set to be even better than last year. In addition, direct marketing campaigns and special promotions have, so far, targeted over 500,000 non-mains gas homes, generating over 1,200 new leads. Recommended installers can therefore look forward to an upturn in leads as more homeowners begin to appreciate LPG’s benefits.”
