Many boiler manufacturers are taking the LPG market seriously – either by offering LPG models or conversion kits for natural gas boilers. Ferroli, one of the largest heating appliance manufacturers in the world, is keen to demonstrate its commitment to the growing LPG market. The company has recently launched two new LPG boiler ranges and has embarked on joint venture with leading LPG supplier Calor – the production of a dedicated LPG boiler brochure.
Ferroli produces over 500,000 boilers a year and, with a range of domestic boilers from 5kW to 50kW, the company has ensured it can match the heating requirements of every type of domestic property – including those not connected to mains gas.
As James Hollingsworth, Ferroli’s marketing manager, explains: “We want to be able to offer a Ferroli gas boiler to meet the needs of every home in the UK, whether a natural gas or a LPG model is required. It’s true that the LPG market is niche, and for that reason some boiler manufacturers have not treated it with the seriousness that it deserves.
“However, Ferroli has chosen to invest heavily in LPG, and will continue to do so. With 73,000 people moving from towns and cities to the English countryside each year*, and around 1.5 million UK homes being situated in non-mains-gas areas, the LPG market is worth serious consideration.
“Where Ferroli’s LPG offering is concerned we’re talking about dedicated LPG high efficiency boiler ranges designed, developed and manufactured specifically for LPG applications. In fact we are now producing our fourth generation of LPG boilers.
“Our recently introduced Maxima HE and Optimax HE ranges offer both LPG and natural gas combi and system boilers. The Optimax range also includes an open vent boiler. The LPG models are pre-set to specifically run on LPG, so the installer won’t have to spend additional time converting and adjusting the boiler.
“We have also produced a LPG brochure for the first time, in conjunction with Calor, which highlights the benefits of LPG and provides details of the LPG ranges we offer.”
The Maxima HE and Optimax HE ranges are both SEDBUK Band A rated, so meet new Energy White Paper legislation requirements and reduce the amount of harmful C02 emissions released into the atmosphere.
The Maxima and Optimax have outputs of 10.2kW to 35kW and 7.3kW to 24.7kW and flow rates of 14.2 litres/min and 12 litres/min respectively. Incorporating tried and tested components, the boilers come with a two year guarantee and the domestic plate heat exchanger has a five year warranty. The boilers also offer simple and ultra quiet operation and ease of installation and servicing.

Ferroli has really tapped in to the market potential LPG offers, because the company appreciates and understands the benefits of the fuel.”
