 Inspire, a popular Coventry city centre café/bar, is reaping the benefits of using Calor Patio Gas fuelled outdoor heaters
as a means of extending its trading space into the surrounding square, catering to the ever increasing trend
for alfresco drinking and dining.
Inspire, which opened in 2000, is set within the 13 th century Christchurch Spire, making it a truly unique dining experience. Ideal for a bite to eat and drink, Inspire is well known in the area as a popular live music venue.
Inside Inspire is small but intimate however by using Calor’s patio heaters it has allowed trading space to almost double by extending out into the surrounding New Union Square. Coupled with a large canopy*, the outdoor patio heaters
allow perfect alfresco dining in all weather conditions.
The successful partnership behind the café/bar, Mick Leape and Mike Bensley, originally used quartz electric mineral heaters but found they were not very powerful. They switched to Calor gas fuelled patio heaters in 2002 and have not looked back since, making the two heaters a permanent fixture as they can be switched on at the touch of a button, any time or day of the year.
Mick Leape, joint owner of Inspire, comments: “We really don’t know what we would do without our two Calor fuelled patio heaters. Our outdoor area is busy all year round thanks to our large canopy and because the heaters are so easy to use and quick to heat up it is very simple to turn them on as and when they are needed.
This ability to increase our trading space with limited cost and effort has meant that we have doubled our trading capacity, permanently, which has a positive knock on effect to our sales.”
