The Lincolnshire-based company, which was established over 100 years ago, beat the competition to win the Calor-sponsored ‘Rural Heating Installer of the year’ category.
The event, which was hosted by popular Outnumbered and Mock the Week star Hugh Dennis, celebrates the cream of the heating and ventilation industry.
Judges at the event heaped praise upon W.E. Scott, commenting that it was “the clear outright leader” and that its submission “hit all the buttons in terms of projects and results from new initiatives.”
Ian Russell, Managing Director at W.E. Scott, said: “We are so pleased with our win. Being based in Lincolnshire many of our clients are based in the countryside so rural installations form a large part of our business. The business has built up its expertise in this area for over a century, so it is fantastic to be recognised for it.”
Nikki McCluney, consumer marketing manager from Calor, commented: “Rural properties face specific energy challenges so it is important that they are provided for. This award celebrates those who have excelled in this field and we are delighted to recognise W.E. Scott as our Rural Heating Installer of the Year.”
Rural heating, though often overlooked, is a key market for installers in the UK energy market. Across Great Britain 1.7 million homes and over 200,000 commercial premises are running ‘off the grid’ – located in rural, non-mains gas areas – and the awards category was created to celebrate excellence and innovation amongst the rural heating installer community.
Calor, which is the UK’s leading supplier of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), sponsored the awards as part of its LPGenius campaign, highlighting ‘genius’ LPG energy solutions. LPG is becoming more and more popular as it offers many of the benefits of mains gas, it is compatible with various high efficiency and renewable applications and can even be used with micro-CHP (combined heat and power) boilers to help generate electricity saving money and energy.
