» Product Recall 17 November 2010
Calor Classic, Calor Compact and Royal Classic portable heaters bought after 1st August should be immediately switched off and returned to the point of purchase. The affected heaters were sold through Calor Centres and other independent retailers.
We have set up a hotline for any customers who are worried about their heaters. The number to call is 0800 181 4522 . Any affected customers will be offered a replacement product where stocks allow or a full refund.
Whilst the risk is perceived to be minimal, our customers’ safety is paramount, so we have decided to carry out a product recall. The malfunction in Calor Classic, Calor Compact and Royal Classic gas heaters purchased after the 1 August 2010 could lead to the heaters emitting carbon monoxide marginally above the allowed levels. No other products are affected. To check when your heater was manufactured you will need to locate the date plate which can be found on the back wall of the heater. An example image showing how to do this can be found to the right.
Please look at the serial numbers below to see if your heater is at risk (the serial number of your heater can be found on the back wall of the heater, as shown in the image to the right). However, we would advise that if you purchased any heater in this range on or after the 1 August 2010, please do not use your gas heater and return it to wherever you bought it from.
If you bought your gas heater online, please call our dedicated hotline on 0800 181 4522 .
We wish to thank our affected customers for their co-operation and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
