» Calor helps make wishes come true for children with life-threatening conditions
Make-A-Wish was chosen by Calor employees, winning the all-staff ballot by an impressive majority.
Make-A-Wish was founded in the UK in 1986 and since then has granted more than 7,500 wishes to children in the United Kingdom. Every year, approximately 1,400 children with life-threatening conditions turn to the charity to have their wishes granted, and we want to help make these dreams a reality. Whether it be providing a moment of light relief in a difficult period of operations, procedures and medication, or as the last happy memory a family have of their child: quite simply put, these wishes change lives!
Our target is to raise £100,000 for Make-A-Wish, and we intend to do this through a mix of corporate and individual fundraising initiatives.
The popular ‘Gift of the Gas’ scheme will continue to raise money for Make-A-Wish. For every disused Calor cylinder returned to an approved Calor outlet, we pledge to donate £5.00 to the charity*.
Calor’s Managing Director Stephen Rennie said: “We are absolutely delighted to be working with Make-A-Wish to help bring joy to children facing life-threatening conditions. We hope that our contribution will make a real difference to these children and their families.”
Neil Jones, Chief Executive of Make-A-Wish, said: “We truly welcome Calor’s support and look forward to working with you to raise £100,000. We know our partnership will be fun and rewarding. Together, we will help grant magical wishes for some very special children. Thank you very much.”
