» Gareth Jones

Position: Minibulk driver

Time at Calor: 5 years

"I deliver LPG throughout South Wales, the Marches and Avon to a broad range of domestic and commercial customers. I do between 7 to 10 drops a day. I enjoy the varied nature of the work, meeting different customers in different parts of the country - no two days are the same. Our monthly team bonding exercises are very well organized and good fun. I have received a lot of valuable training, and feel that the level of time invested in me by the company has given me a great feeling of job security, which, for a professional driver, can be hard to find".

» Lenka Racikova

Position: Accounts Payable Clerk

Time at Calor: 1 year, 6 months

"My day can vary from one day to next and always keeps me busy, my main responsibilities are processing of invoices from our suppliers, answering phone calls from suppliers chasing payments, disputing invoices or just chasing for general update on progress of payment. Construction Industry Scheme deductions and submitting this to Inland Revenue is the second main part of my job. I have found Calor to be a fantastic company to work for. My time here has taught me so much about working with others, team building and the financial aspect of the company. The people at Calor are fantastic!

Calor has been really supportive and provided me with help and guidance both on professional and personal level. My manager Susan is never too busy to help me or point into right direction. Calor is currently supporting me in my AAT studies which I am finishing soon".

» Jason Esser

Position: Senior Business Accountant

Time at Calor: 16 years

"My team and I support the senior managers of the company in a number of areas including acquisitions, budgets, forecasting, treasury, management information, investment appraisal and post investment reviews. One of the joys of the role is that it continually evolves, and you never know what each new day will bring. Calor is a great size business; compact enough to allow individuals to have an input in many different aspects of the company yet large enough to allow personal progression and development. Calor initially paid for my accounting qualification and has subsequently allowed me to hold a number of different positions in Finance, increasing my responsibilities as my experience has allowed. I also met my wife here and that doesn’t happen in every company!"

» Robert Ward

Position: Sales & Marketing Graduate

Time at Calor: 10 weeks

"Being relatively new to the business I am currently learning everything there is to know about Calor; this involves going out and meeting our customers, spending time with the sales force and regularly feeding back information to my mentor. Having joined on a development scheme and undergone an in-depth recruitment process, I am delighted to find that the day to day training is living up to my expectations as no two days are the same - Calor provides the opportunity to broaden my knowledge and skills in many different fields. Equally the people - everyone is always helpful and friendly, whether it be a catch up with your manager over a coffee or out in the field with one of the sales professionals. Calor allows me to maximise my potential and prove that anything is possible with hard work and determination. I also am thoroughly enjoying working in an environment where you are encouraged to ask questions and challenge decisions".
